Security on EllenDoc
Local protection, Vault with PIN and biometrics and encrypted backup under your control.
Your files stay on the device
The core features of EllenDoc are designed to work locally. Reading, organizing, searching, PDF, compressed, and Vault tools do not depend on a EllenDoc server. The audited Android configuration also does not include internet permission.
A Vault that closes the door
- documents stored in encrypted form;
- PIN access and optional biometrics;
- protecting secrets with private storage and Android Keystore;
- blocking when turning off the screen and after prolonged pauses;
- protection against captures on compatible sensitive native screens;
- organization by divisions to find each document easily.
The PIN exists only on the Vault local stream. EllenDoc does not send this secret to a server.
You decide when a file goes out
Sharing, printing, and saving a copy are actions you initiate. To complete these tasks, EllenDoc delivers the document to your chosen application or service. From then on, the copy follows the rules of the destination.
Encrypted backup in the folder you choose
Before delivering the backup to the provider, EllenDoc creates an encrypted package. You can choose a folder in Google Drive when the service is available in the Android selector, or use another supported provider.
- recovery password separate from the Vault PIN;
- integrity check after copying;
- retention of up to two completed generations;
- protected restore to a non-local Vault installation.
The recovery password is your responsibility. Keep it away from your device so you can restore your documents if you change or lose your cell phone.
Scanner integrated into the Android
The scan uses Google ML Kit Document Scanner through Google Play Services. The component provides capture, adjustments, and creation of PDF without requiring EllenDoc to directly request permanent access to the camera.
Security without empty promises
No serious system promises absolute protection. EllenDoc uses concrete controls to reduce exposure and keep you in control: encryption on the Vault, local authentication, screen saver, on-device processing, and encrypted backup before reaching your chosen provider.
